Everyone knows how water is important
Hydrating properly will help eliminate lots of health issues, not to mention it will keep soreness and other things like that away. You really have to make sure that you drink water often.
After all, around 80% of your brain is made out of the water, and it’s one of the organs that need it the most. I had a client who drank around 6 liters of water a day to detox for a while and believes that drinking water is good for her health, but is that ok for the human body or not? Let’s find out! |
Dehydration can also be even worse because it will bring in more and more pain all the time.
And the true challenge with all of this is that as soon as you stop drinking the necessary amount of water, you will feel
・back pain
・arthritic
・muscle pain
・headaches
and many others.
This really goes to show that even the simplest type of pain can be problematic, and only if you know how to manage that pain you will be fine. Most of the time, staying hydrated will keep these problems away and that’s certainly what you want to pursue.
While dehydration is bad, Overhydration is also very bad.
Your body will end up with water intoxication if you drink too much. The electrolytes and salt levels in your body will be too diluted.
That leads to issues like hyponatremia, a condition where the sodium levels are becoming very low. In case the electrolyte levels are really low, then this can be fatal. Dying from Overhydration is rare, but it can be possible.
Keep in mind that things like water needs will vary based on your age, activities and other factors.
That means you never really know how much water you need. Then there are other things like illness with fever, lots of activity or intense heat which will affect the water intake even more.
Also, how much water you drink at once is just as important. If you are the type of person that will drink lots of water at once, that can be an issue.
You have to realize that moderation is key here.
You can’t just start drinking lots and lots of water at once as it will be an issue. Moderation is crucial and if you tackle it correctly it will help you quite a bit.
When will you know that you are drinking too much water?
- A lot of people drink water until the urine colour is clear. The healthy body will have yellow urine, clear urine is a sign of electrolyte imbalance.
- Drinking too much or too little water can lead to headaches. That’s because the brain cells get affected and your brain pushes against the skull.
- Muscle cramping and even constant weakness are a sign of Overhydration. When this happens, the electrolyte balance in your body is unhealthy, and that can be an issue more often than not.
- There’s also the fact that Overhydration can swell up your cells. In this situation you can have brain, organ and tissue damage.
It’s important to understand the pros and cons that come from drinking water.
At the same time, try to avoid Overhydration or Dehydration, as both are bad for your body. Experiment and try to find the optimal water intake per day. It should be around 2 liters per day, nothing more!
